* BESIDE THE SILENT MIRROR

3 or 7mar71     TAPE(1gen)     5     The "La Ferme", Belgium or France

Still not known for sure where this club was (Some say near Brussels, others name the northern part of France). The exact date is also a bit unsure.Either 3 or 7 march 1971.
Constains rare songs like 'The Light' and 'Going Out To Get You". Arguably (one of) the first Genesis gigs outside the UK. It was recorded in whatsounds like a small club. Sound is pretty muffled and their is quite somehiss.(As if it was recorded on a small pocket recorder) "The light" isa song from which much later 'LilyWhite Lillith' was build. Hear PeterGabriel struggling in French.
I also have the Hogweed version of this show (see below)
Filler are a few Dire Straits Songs from March 3rd 1979 in Philadelphia

* SIX OF THE BEST (FADE003) (82)

2oct82      2CD(r)        8.5        Milton Keynes concert Bowl, Milton Keynes

A one-off reunion show with Peter Gabriel primarily to help Gabriel's 'WOMAD' project out of an awkward financial situation. Steve Hackett also joins in, but not until the last two songs. This show proof what a wonderful combination of people this was. Excellent performance!
This is a FADE (Fan Aproved Definite Edtion) release where an attempt is made to obtain the best possible recording. The result is far better then the Highland release with the same title. However, it remains an audience recording where at time the sing-along is notable.

Tracks:
CD 1:
Introduction by Jonathan King/Back In NYC/Selling England By the Pound (intro)/Carpet Crawlers/Greeting by Gabriel/Firth Of Fifth/Musical Box/Solsbury Hill/Turn It On Again/The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway/Fly On A Windshield/Broadway Melody Of 1974/In the Cage

* ROTTERDAM (87)

11jun87      2CD     7.5     De Kuip, Rotterdam

Complete show at which I was present. This is not the greatest show I'veattended. As a matter of fact, I found it to be mediocre. At the end, duringthe encore a fight broke out in front of the stage which makes Phill Collinscut the encore short leaving the audience with an abrubt ending.
The sound isn't all that bad, though a bit from a distance. Howeverthere are a few very annoying people close to the taper shouting numeroustimes for 'Cinema Show' and other stuff. Worse of all, at times they feelthe need to sing along and doing a pretty bad job at that, too.

Tracks:
CD 1:
Mama/Abacab/Domino/That's All/The Brazilian/In The Cage (medley)/-?-
