other well known songs in their embryonic version.
Filler are three track from the 'Lost Lennon Tapes' (see the 'lennon'

As the story goes, John and
Paul jammed together in a Los Angeles
studio in 1974. The first 4 tracks are from this recording. I
also found an article on this
session where Paul talked about this session. Paul plays drums and can
be heard on some background vocals. Apparently, Stevie Wonder and Harry
Nilsson were also present. Musically not very interesting apart from
the fact that it's the only known John / Paul collaboration from
after the Beatles split.
The remainder on this CD is
from a jam on 9oct71 on John's
birthday. It's not really much more then some rough unrehearsed
sing-a-long.

´Jet´ part of the instruments are way low in the mix.
During the Paul Simon cover ´Richard Cory´ a drum machine
for the next song already starts up. ´Blackbird´ is a mere
16 seconds only.

This is probably from the master
tape. It looks like it is only one
reel from the show, but at this quality, I'll take what I can get. Not
only is the performance good, and highly charged, but this line
recording
(which was probably once property of MPL) is so clear. It's a
revelation
to hear Jimmy's wah-wah garnishing of The Long and Winding Road. To
hear
all the natural noise from amps, the real crunch of his Marshalls.
Unbelievable! Call Me Back Again is simply stunning as Paul is
literally singing directly into your speakers. Why don't more official
recordings come out like this? None of the magic of this evening is
suppressed by compression, overproduction or overdubs. And....it is far
superior to Wings Over America.
